QB is Quiz Bowl.
It could mean the QB Team or it could be the QB held at our County Fair. Here is the scoop on both events.
The QB Team - is open to any youth in Kent County who would like to participate in this event at the Goat Expo held in Lansing every year. Typically Kent County puts together a team starting in January that meets twice a month to prepare for the event usually held in April. For 2012 Kent County does not have QB Team.
QB at Fair - this is a declared event at the Fair. The rules and guidelines are all in the Fair book. This event is open to all youth - and they compete on an individual basis.
Both QB events use the State 4-H list of reference materials for studying and preparation. You can view the link by clicking HERE.

What does it mean to be on the QB Team?
Many of our regular QB (quiz bowl) team members have graduated. eMAILS went out to our 4-H goat families inquiring if there is any interest in QB and we've not heard back from you. Does this mean Kent County is not sending a team to the state quiz bowl this year?
What does it take to be on the QB Team?
* You and a few friends (a team is a minimum of 3 people)
* Be willing to practice 2 times per month in Feb, March and April
* Attend the event on Saturday, April 28th @ the State 4-H Goat Expo
We have adult volunteers willing to help with transportation and studying. If we want to have a chance at beating our 2nd place position from last year - we would need to start ASAP.
Please contact the secretary and let her know your interested -
